How to Choose Home Fitness Gym Equipment

by S.G.R.B

One of the biggest advantages to buying a home fitness gym is that you can exercise at home without having to go to a club. If you are uncomfortable exercising with other people you can workout in private, at home. Consider a few points before you purchase your gym so that you choose wisely.

Things to Take into Consideration

  • do you have enough room in your home? Make sure that you have enough space and a firm place for your home fitness gym to stand.
  • What is your budget? You can pay as little as $500 to as much as $5000 for a top quality, comprehensive, multi station home gym.
  • Which type of system do you want? Free weights or resistance using built in weights, cables or rods?

Advantages and Disadvantages of Home Fitness Gyms

With a home gym you can, of course, work out in private in your own home, the gym is always available and you won’t have to wait until someone else finishes before you can do your training. There won’t be gym fees to pay every month and your home gym is available whenever you want to work out. You should also take into account the disadvantages. A home gym is going to take up a lot of space and may be hard to set up initially. It may be easier to stay motivated at a gym, among other people or with a trainer than at home!

Choosing a Home Fitness Gym

The most important consideration, in our opinion, is how well made the unit is. It will do you no good if you buy a cheap, badly made gym that will fall apart soon and provide a poor workout. Over time this won’t be money saving. You should be looking for a well constructed sturdy gym preferably made from 11 or 12 gauge steel. Heavy duty steel tubing and welded joints, in preference to bolts, are found in the better quality gyms. A minimum warranty should be for 3 years on upholstery and parts. Many of the more expensive, higher quality gyms have lifetime warranties.

If you have found a quality home gym at a good price now make sure it is easy to use and adjust for different exercises. You will want to find a gym that makes it easy to change both the type of exercise and the resistance. If it takes too long or is too hard it is easy to allow this to put you off working out. You also need a home fitness gym that is comfortable to use with seats that are well padded and that can be easily cleaned. This is not just for convenience but for safety, as well padded and durable handgrips and leg presses can prevent blisters and injuries.

Conclusion

Do not rush into buying the first home gym exercise equipment you see. If possible try out your chosen gym at the store or a local gym and find out as much about how it works as you can. Take your time as this is quite a large investment and you don’t want to regret your purchase later.

Help Me Look Good In My Bathing Suit This Summer

by S.G.R.B

Its that time of year again when everybody is getting to the gym to try and lose those extra pounds they put on over winter. Everybody wants to look good for the summer and especially in their bathing suit. The problem is that you keep doing this to yourself every year and this is a habit you need to break.

Lets make this the year that you are already in great shape before summer. How you are going to accomplish this is by accepting a lifestyle involving fitness year round and doing it that right way. The best way to do this is to get advice from a fitness pro. Forget going to the gym and spending money on the same personal trainer that does not give you the support you need to make it through the winter months and try something new.

Its time to try PX90. You might have seen the infomercials late at night showing some mid 40 year old guy doing pull ups, chin ups, and push ups. This workout is real and will teach you how to get into shape and more importantly how to maintain it by implementing “muscle confusion.”

When people decide to get back into shape they usually go back to the sme workouts they were doing back in high school. They get to a certain point and the burn goes away and if anything you might be damaging those muscles. Doing the same old workouts can damage the muscles and you can’t blame it on yourself as you have never been given great advice.

With PX90 you are going to be doing 12 different workouts over a 90 day period. Each exercise will be challenging every part of your body like never before doing yoga, karate, and chin ups. You will be amazed how much your body changes in this short time period. Millions of people around the country are doing it and seeing amazing P90 results. The best part is that you can do this in the comfort of your own home in about an hour a day. No more spending two hours of your day going to and from the gym. For one hour straight you will be working out to the PX90 DVD of the day with a pull up bar, resistance band, or dumbbell. No fancy equipment needed. This is old school working out.

Which is Powerful- Upper Abdomen Exercises or Lower Abdomen Exercises?

by S.G.R.B

In fitness, some people are confused about the topic of upper abs exercises and lower abs exercises, so here is some information to set the record straight. The main muscle, that people talk about when they discuss the upper abs and lower abs, is the rectus abdominus. Rectus means straight, and abdominus refers to the abdomen. So simply put, the rectus abdominus runs straight down the abdomen. The rectus abdominus is also the muscle that gives a lean person that six pack look.

The rectus abdominus is 1 muscle, but it has tendinous intersections that separate muscle fibers forming distinct sections. Many argue that rectus abdominus is a single muscle and you can’t isolate certain parts of the muscle. Yes, you can’t isolate only one section but you can emphasize one area over another.Confusion naturally arises when people are unclear where to use the words isolate and emphasize.

Our nervous has thousands of intricately  designed nerve cells and nerve ending which help us to move with grace, be agile, be accurate and lot more functions. The rectus abdominus is supplied by multiple nerves that work in a coordinated fashion to create a variety of movements. The multiple nerve supply helps us move in different ways, and the upper abs and lower abs are emphasized when we do different movement. The upper part of the rectum abdominus, the upper abs are emphasized well when the trunk is mover forward as we move it in crunches and sit ups. Ball crunches, crunch machines and ab training machines have good value as a upper abs tightening methods.Apart from upper abs the lower abs are also emphasized while doing crunches. The entire rectus abdominus muscle is trained in any good abdominal exercise when your trunk bends forward or flexed.

The lower abs (lower part of the rectus abdominus) are emphasized when the pelvis moves towards the trunk like in reverse crunches. The lower abs are also emphasized when the legs are moving in exercises like leg raises or flutter kicks. You should note that even in reverse crunches the upper abs are trained but more stress is given to lower abs only.

However I must warn you that these abdomen exercises are definitely not a magic cure. Doing these upper and lower abdomen exercises alone will not melt that fat deposited for ages in your rectus abdominus area…. This misconception is termed as spot reduction myth. You must adopt a comprehensive approach towards fitness. Healthy eating is a must.

In regards to your ab workout, try to exercise your abdominal muscles 2-3 times a week, and include both upper ab and lower abs exercises to work your body from a variety of directions. By using different forms of exercises, you will have a more balanced body.

Everything they never told you about best ab exercise revealed! For more insider tips and information be sure and check out best ab workouts

Running To Lose Weight – Learn How To Lose Weight Effectively!

by S.G.R.B

Running to lose weight is an efficient way to burn calories.  It is a great aerobic exercise.  It is fast and exhilarating.  It is fresh and fun.  When running, you burn at least 100 calories per mile.  No wonder, so many health-conscious individuals are drawn to running to lose weight programs.  Running gives them the adrenaline to get pumped up for the day while shedding those excess pounds and giving them a much leaner and healthier body.  Running is also good for the muscles:  your legs, your calves and your abs.

When running to lose weight, remember that you have to follow a regular program and combine running with a sound diet plan.  For you to lose weight, you must burn calories more than you take in.  Therefore, the exercise should always be combined with a proper diet, which means regulating your food intake.  Even if you run 20 miles a day, you will not lose a pound if you compensate your efforts and hard work by binging on food afterwards.

When starting a running to lose weight program, you should also plan to reduce your food consumption.  However, stick to a properly balanced, energy-rich diet.  Do not make the mistake of fasting or starving yourself because you will need the energy to run.  Your body needs to burn energy as you exert it.  If there is nothing to burn, you might end up in a hospital instead of getting healthier.

When running to lose weight, you should run at least 3 times a week.  Running only once a week running may not achieve your goal or it may take you a little while longer to get there.  Doing it several times a week also gets your body used to the routine.  The body adjusts and regulates its reaction based on our daily routines.  The regularity and routine aids in regulating metabolism.

Running on a treadmill can become boring at times.  You should try to vary your routine every now and then, not the schedule but how you do your running to lose weight program.  You would want to put challenges in your routine because you might get bored and lose interest if you do the same thing every day.  Instead of using the treadmill, you can go out to the park or run along the streets of your neighborhood.

Another day, you can change the route you take.  This way, you also have fun with the different sceneries you see: an unfamiliar corner in the park or a different street in your village.  You will be surprised at the new things you will see and also the people whom you will meet.  This adds to the fun in your running.  If you are having fun, you will not notice that you are on your way to losing those excess pounds and calories.

Running to lose weight can be done by anyone.  You do not need any special skills to do it.  However, as in any other exercise program, it does not hurt to proceed with caution and know your limits before embarking on such a program.

A Beginners Guide To Exercise

by S.G.R.B

Most of us are trying to find ways of getting more exercise in the limited time we have available. There are many reasons for wanting to get moving. Whether you want to drop a few pounds or just feel better all the way around, an exercise program is the best bet. However, it is important to start with a beginner workout when you take on this project.

While many of us are pretty active anyway, it is still very important to start things at the, well, start.  A beginner workout may seem a little behind your ability but it is crucial to begin slowly, no matter how active you already are. You may be surprised to find how challenging a beginner workout really is.

Exercise for beginners isn’t necessarily a breeze. There are many things that factor into a successful beginner workout program. First of all, you are more likely to drop out of a regimen that is too strict, too long and just too inconvenient for you to follow. A good beginner workout will start out slowly.

The exercise program for novices should also be time efficient. If you are spending too much time doing a lax beginner workout, you may find that you can’t fit the program into your busy schedule. You also may discover that you are not seeing the results that you should in enough time.

A balance is perfect. The beginner workout needs to be short, challenging but not overly demanding. This is a delicate balance that is difficult to achieve. This why you should always start out by doing some simple stretching exercises and light walking. The whole approach is easy and you can fit your routine into any schedule.

The walker’s beginner workout consists of five to ten minutes of stretching. Then the participant walks briskly for about 30 minutes. A brisk walk will be challenging but you should be able to hold a conversation while in motion. If you can’t talk, slow down your walk. After the 30 minutes is up, all you need to do is stretch for five or ten minutes.

Once you get more comfortable with the routine you can begin making this beginner workout a little more challenging. Just add some intervals of intense exercise into the mix. I like to sprint for 30 seconds every five minutes during my 30 minute beginner workout routine.

This homemade exercise routine is just a personal preference. There are plenty of wonderful beginner workout DVDs on the market that offer the same benefits at a comfortable pace.

You can even do these routines without leaving your home. Once you have a basic fitness you can start to think about trying some gym routines to take your fitness to the next level.

Fitness Exercise Programs Offer You A Good Avenue To Learn To Help Others Become Fit

by S.G.R.B

A certified fitness trainer is the right person to turn to when you need advice about which exercises are right for you and also to learn about proper nutrition. Thus, if you feel the need to hire a fitness trainer for these and other services, you should also be aware of what it takes for a person to be a good fitness trainer and what attributes to look in the one that you are planning on hiring.

But a beneficial aerobic fitness program does not have to be hard. If you have been out of an exercise routine for a while, or perhaps never even began one, it is best to start slow. Do not commit yourself to an hour long intense workout as your body is not used to that and this is where most people end up giving up.

However, merely holding the proper certification is not the only qualification you should look for in a fitness trainer, since there is more to it than being well qualified. So, you need to ensure that the prospective individual can formulate a plan that will suit your individual needs, and will not be someone that tries a one size fits all type of training program on you.

Then again, you need to ensure that the prospective fitness personal trainer can be objective with regard to your training program and will consider your particular needs while imparting your training to you. He or she should also be able to alter your exercise routine under different conditions such as when suffering from an injury or having had a particularly hard day at the office.

However, more important is the fact that you and your fitness trainer should have a good personal chemistry and you should be able to get along well together and feel comfortable in each other’s company; otherwise, it could prove to be difficult to perform the required training programs. In addition, you should also be sure that you can follow what your trainer is trying to teach you and that he or she can give you clear as well as detailed instructions. What’s more, the trainer should also be open to your needs and listen well to what you tell him and then respond well to address your concerns.

Thus, having made the decision to invest your time as well as money in choosing an exercise lifestyle, it would pay to take these factors into consideration so that you are then able to hire yourself the best suited fitness trainer for your fitness needs.

Walking Exercise- The Best Form of Exercise

by S.G.R.B

Walking is still an excellent form of exercise that any physician will recommend especially if you have problems with other physical activities. For someone who doesn’t exercise that much, a half hour walking exercise program every day would soon see results in breathing, slower heartbeat to name but a few. If you have been walking fast, walk slowly or stretch for a few minutes to cool down.

So you do not become bored, it always worth finding different locations to walk or varying the routes and if at all possible ask someone to join you as the time will pass faster and it will be more enjoyable. In fact there is a growing popularity for machines that can be used to mimic ordinary physical activities like walking, running, cycling and even skiing.

There are very few types of physical activity that can match the simple act of walking for the ease with which weight can be lost. Weight-bearing activities, like walking and golfing, which involve lifting or pushing your own body weight is also excellent as two exercises are combined. Remember that you should always do stretching exercise before a vigorous walk or run.

Walking is a wonderful way to start your exercise routine as it is low impact, you need no special equipment, and it costs nothing. It doesn’t take much to start and it is recommended that if you haven’t carried out any type of regular exercise to only start with five walking minutes a day and increase to the half an hour a day over a period of time.

As a complete method to stay fit or lose a few pounds plus the health benefits involved, walking just can’t be beaten. If you have a budget to work with though, you may want to consider a home treadmill which can really speed up your fitness exercise program.

As far as home fitness equipment is concerned, treadmills are still the most popular and they can be used for running, walking or a gently jog plus there is less impact on a treadmill owing to the cushioning effect. A treadmill works because it utilizes a belt that rotates at various speeds and can be raised at one end to simulate a hill; this give the equipment the ability to be used to help improve the heart, lungs and circulation of the user and increasing their stamina.

If you are buying a treadmill, don’t skimp if it is something that is going to be used regularly and make sure it has a good range of functions, especially an adjustable ramp. It is the variety of possible walking conditions that make the treadmill so popular as many people would be hard pushed to find those conditions on their doorstep.

Ultimately it is the convenience of a treadmill that is hard to beat because if even if you only have ten minutes to spare you can use it so it means you can walk at any time you feel like it.
