IT WAS A SPUR OF THE MOMENT DECISION. With nothing much better to do, my friends and I decided to go on a trekking adventure into the mountains. We got permission from our parents right away. They have been begging us to give them “a peace of mind” for a change. After getting my gear and our 4 person tent, I hurriedly went to join my friends. At the appointed time we assembled at the supermarket. Bought some equipments and foods. The we went happily away.

We are not alone on the idea. Plenty of hikers are walking alongside us. To see this many people sharing the same interest like us, gives you this feeling that you belong, that you are part of the group. The thrill of the walk is getting into us. What’s amazing is we are not feeling tired even if we have walked a long distance already. A lot of hikers were stopping at a nearby brook. We found the place engaging so we decided to rest for a while. The place is teeming with youngsters like us. There may be some “oldies” amongst us but in our genre, age is irrelevant. It’s like a carnival out here. Everybody is enjoying themselves. People are making rounds, talking animatedly, conversing with everyone. The feeling is we are friends for a long time already.

The night is already approaching so we decided to pitch camp here. Setting up the 4 person tent was just a breeze. Wow, it’s been years already since we’ve last used it and still it look good-as-new. Without any warning, since it’s cold already, it begun to rain. A slight drizzle at first that soon develop into a full-blown rain. It’s time to go inside our 4 person tent. When I was small, I used to remember how big the tent is and now I wonder if I would still feel the same. I can’t believe it. But I am still pleasantly overjoyed. The 4 person tent fits all of us, comfortable with space to move around. Amazing. No doubt, we can sleep comfortably inside. After all these years, it’s fabric is still durable to hold up to the rain. We hardly noticed the rain and it didn’t bother us a bit.

On the fourth day of our hike, we decided we’ve reached our limit. We have reached the top of the mountain. The air here was extra cool. Imagine, it’s almost noon and yet the leaves and the flowers are still wet. Good thing it was warm and comfortable in our 4 person tent. It was built to protect us from the rain as well as from the cold. The 4 person tent truly have made our adventure extra special. I’m sure my 4 person tent will still serve me well in the next years to come.
